I have never seen so many rock buns in one place! My youngest has been learning all about World War Two this term covering evacuees, The Blitz, ARP wardens, building model Anderson shelters, creating plays, visiting Eden Camp near Malton (which was a prisoner of war camp during the war and well worth a visit) and much much more. Plus to finish off a VE Day Tea Party. All the children dressed up in war time outfits and for homework made war time teatime treats for the party – we made jam tarts. Parents, grandparents and carers were all invited and to add to the authenticity some of them even dressed up in 1940s dress or in original uniforms that have been passed down through their family. Everyone had a story tell. It was a very moving afternoon.
